Man Holds Woman Hostage For 10 Hours With A Light Phaser
Posted on March 8th, 2009 in Brazil | 1 Comment » |
During tough economic times, most people would to do whatever it takes to survive. Apparently this Brazilian man took it a little too far. Looking to get out of debt the young man broke into the house of 60-year-old woman and held her hostage for 10 long hours. His weapon of choice? A Sega Light Phaser.

Story continues below ⇓
A brief history: The Sega Light Phaser is a gun designed for the famous 8-bit Sega Master console system similar to that of the Super Scope for the Super Nintendo console system. The Sega console system itself was first release in 1986, but failed to make its mark in the North American and European markets. Nevertheless, the system was incredibly popular in Brazil during the time which probably explains why the gun is so easily available.
After 10 long hours of negotiation, the man released his hostage unharmed. The question now is what kind of charges will he face at trial. Assault with a deadly weapon? Kidnapping? What do you think?
