Strange Heart-Shaped Watermelons

Japanese have a big love affair with juicy red watermelons. Just to give you an idea, it was in Japan where the first square watermelon were bred and even the most expensive watermelon was sold here. Just when you thought watermelon couldn’t get any weirder, a Japanese couple has cleverly used their farming skills to produce the perfect hart-shaped watermelons.

These 15,750 yen (approx $160) watermelons were grown by a couple from Kumamoto, Japan and they said took them three years to perfect. The couple said they decided to create the perfect heart-shaped watermelon because they wanted to show passion for farming and their affection for each other. As a son of a farmer, I am truely amazed (and jealous) of Mr. and Ms. Hiroichi Kimura.
