Lightning Kills Entire Football Team
Posted on October 12th, 2010 in Africa | 2 Comments » |

An entire Congolese football team was killed after a single bolt of lightning struck the soccer field during a weekend game in the Democratic Republic of Congo. All eleven players from the Congolese team were instantly killed and at least thirty spectators were injured.
Surprisingly, the opponent team was completely unharmed. This has led many locals to believe that the incident was caused by some sort of witchcraft or spells during the game.
This is not the first time lightning has ended a soccer game. It had happened before in Johannesburg, South Africa where half of the players from the Jomo Cosmos and Moroka Swallows teams dropped to the ground after lightning strike the field. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured after lightning struck the field during this game.
